One of our customers is Little Karma Co, winners of the Muddy Stiletto’s Best Sustainable Lifestyle Award 2023. This is a prime example of the sustainable Buckinghamshire businesses that deserve recognition.

Little Karma Co handcrafts small batches of natural, clean burning candles. The wax is blended from rapeseed and coconut oils. As a result, their candles are clean burning, paraffin and chemical-free, as well as free from Palm oil. The aromas are created with 100% essential oils, which provide natural fragrances and aromatherapy benefits. what’s more, all ingredients are vegan-friendly.

The range includes:

• Luna is a soothing floral candle created with Lavender, Clary Sage and Geranium.
• Kefi is an invigorating scent created with Rosemary, Spearmint, Lemon and Black Pepper.
• Juniper is a grounding aroma designed to clear your head using the botanical, woody aromas of the forest.

The candles come in a choice of sizes, starting from Mini, with a burning time of approximately 20 hours. At the other end of the spectrum is Mega, which burns for approximately 80 hours! However, if you can’t pick which to go for, gift packs with three fragrant candles are an ideal way to discover favourites.

The candles are poured into glass containers. To ensure these are reusable, refill candles are sold by the company. As a sustainable business, Little Karma Co is also particular about its packaging.

Environmentally Sustainable Packaging

A priority for this sustainable Buckinghamshire Business was to avoid unnecessary packaging. As a result, the candles are topped with a seeded paper dust cover, rather than a lid.

Secondly, all  packaging materials are considered.

• The labels used to define the range and personalise gift candles are made from Bagasse. This is a by-product of sugar cane production, which is fully biodegradable.
• The cardboard boxes we supply to Little Karma Co contain a minimum of 70% recycled content and are reusable, recyclable and biodegradable.
• For added protection, the boxes are void-filled with shredded paper and tissue paper.

As such, the packaging is plastic-free and ties into the company’s environmental ethos.
