Cardboard Packaging: An Environmental Solution

There is mounting evidence that human activity is putting considerable strain on the world’s finite resources. As individuals we can’t solve the problem, but we can choose to take steps that reduce our environmental impact.

You may already recycle materials, use a water butt to collect rainwater, or grow your own veg and Aylesbury Box Company wants to help you achieve green objectives in the workplace.

The great news is that our environmental credentials are achieved without any compromise in the quality of our boxes or the printing. As our customer, you don’t pay additional costs for environmental packaging, yet you get all the benefits.

We start by using cardboard that is made from 80% recycled materials and 20% wood from sustainable sources. If you prefer, we can produce your cardboard boxes from 100% recycled materials.

We purposefully cut all cardboard templates in the best way to minimise waste and we use a water based Flexographic printing process to add logos, information and designs to your cardboard box.

We provide a bespoke box service, so you can find the perfect fit for your products. We also produce cardboard inserts to help keep items in place. With packaging that has been specifically designed for the product, the need to fill it with plastic bubble wrap or air pockets is minimised. Aylesbury Box Company views such filling materials as wasteful and they aren’t biodegradable like cardboard.

We encourage you and your customers to re-use our boxes; they are great for storage or you can get really creative and re-live your Blue Peter days! When they are finally ready for the bin, they can be recycled and we may use them again in a future batch of boxes.

Finally, a significant proportion of the customers we serve are within a 50 mile radius of Aylesbury, including many businesses within the town.
