Instant Attraction
Shop window displays have always been a vital marketing tool for retailers. Attract the attention of potential customers and you have the opportunity to entice them through the door.
Christmas is when the big names pull out all the stops for a show stopping window display. Fortnum & Mason, Harrods Liberty’s, Tiffany & Co and Harvey Nichols are all on a mission to set the scene and create a touch of magic. It’s proven its worth in attracting an audience and tempting buyers into the store.
Such elaborate displays take the best part of a year to plan and an eye watering budget, but smaller retailers need a different approach.
Regularly Updated Window Displays
Even the most imaginative window display ideas will lose their impact if they remain unchanged for a long period of time. Visual merchandising needs to be fresh; reflecting current trends and desires. As such, your window displays have to be regularly updated, so you need to consider cost.
Cheap and cheerful isn’t the right approach, but you can’t afford to forfeit your profits.
One option is to look for multi-purpose props, which can be re-imagined in a variety of ways, to suit your changing theme, but have you the storage space for items not in use?. Another approach is to use low cost materials, with a high quality finish and this is where Aylesbury Box Company comes in.
Window Displays for Media Ace
Aylesbury Box Company was approached by Media Ace. They requested a range of printed cardboard plinths, which would be incorporated into fashion window displays.
The cardboard plinths were created in a variety of heights to add interest to the display. With exact colour matching, we flood printed the cardboard plinths to perfectly complement the seasonal colour trends. The flat, opaque print gives clean, contemporary lines and the simplicity of the style doesn’t distract from the fashion ranges. Exactly what Media Ace was looking for and very cost effective.
The benefit of using cardboard props for window displays stretches beyond cost. When the shop is ready to update the display, these cardboard props can be disassembled into easy to store flat sheets. Alternatively, they can be broken down and recycled. This fits in with the sustainability agenda that is a growing priority for many businesses.
Cardboard Displays
With cardboard engineering and packaging design expertise, Aylesbury Box Company can create a wide variety of shapes, sizes, designs and finishes to meet the requirements of your visual displays.
Cardboard is a versatile material. It’s straight forward to cut sections or shapes into the board, or produce interesting 3D shapes by slotting cardboard elements together. It’s lightweight, making it easy to move and also the ideal material for hanging features. It is also sufficiently robust (and can be reinforced) to hold products without collapsing.
Cardboard can be printed in a variety of ways to create a wide range of finished effects. From the plain flood printing that was requested by Media Ace, to elaborate, multi coloured and textured finishes.
With colour matching, we can offer branded solutions and for this reason, our freestanding cardboard solutions are widely used in exhibitions and as point of sale displays. If we could help to fulfil your display brief contact us, we’re happy to discuss your requirements.
