Innovative Manufacturing

The official launch of Aylesbury Vale Manufacturing Group in association with Aylesbury Vale District Council took place on Wednesday 22 February at Arla’s factory. Luke Jamieson, Director of Aylesbury Box Company was delighted to join other local manufacturers and business representatives to see innovative manufacturing in action.

The visit, led by Alan Causon, Engineering Manager, clearly showed that environmentally sensitive development can go hand in hand with state-of-the-art technology. Alan has been involved since the factories conception and gave a highly informative site tour.

Purpose Built Manufacturing Site

Arla’s factory incorporates the complete supply chain on one purpose-built site and results in highly efficient, cost effective and productive manufacturing. The factory currently supplies a quarter of the UK’s milk and uses less water and energy per litre of milk than its competitors.

The tour highlighted the value of investing in technology to optimise processes. Few of the businesses at the event could dream of investing even a small percentage of the Arla budget to enhancing their processes, however it offers inspiration. Every small commitment to improving manufacturing standards and processes can have a positive impact on productivity and sustainability.

Manufacturing in Aylesbury Vale

Aylesbury Box Company looks forward to future events. They provide the opportunity to build stronger links with other established Aylesbury Vale manufacturers, along with manufacturers moving to the new Enterprise Hubs at Woodlands, Westcott and Silverstone.
