According to a recent report, sustainable packaging could influence buyer’s decisions more than might be expected. The ‘Sustainability 2015 Transparency Report’, produced by The Hartman Group, reveals that many consumers view sustainable packaging as a simple measure that all manufacturers could and should take towards environmental responsibility.

It would seem that rather than something exceptional, sustainable packaging is now viewed as an acceptable norm.

This report supports a ‘Forum for the Future’ survey which took place in 2014. Of 3,000 consumers questioned in the UK, US and Poland, 62% felt negatively about companies that didn’t opt for the most environmentally responsible packaging available. In the same survey, 82% agreed that companies should aim to increase the volume of recycled materials in their packaging.
