With a growing number of online retailers and logistics companies opting for our cardboard packaging solutions, this has been a considerably busy time of year. The Aylesbury Box Company team have been incredible all year and have pulled out all the stops this December.

Before we head off on a well-deserved break, we wanted to thank our customers and suppliers. We really appreciate your custom and the breadth of packaging design requirements.

Cardboard Shop Window Displays

This year, we’ve had plenty of new requests. A big project was to design and creation of an extensive range of flood printed cardboard plinths. This point of sale display project was for a major clothing retailer, with stores across the country. We successfully coordinated the logistics to ensure that each store received the plinths for their window displays on the same day. Our team was proud to see photos of the end result.

Sustainable Cardboard Packaging

Another success for the year has been assisting a number of companies to switch from plastic packaging. Since Blue Planet II, awareness of plastic pollution has grown. Consumer pressure and Government targets have put sustainability on the agenda for many businesses. As a result, packaging has been reconsidered. We’ve been keen to provide advice and answer questions, in order to help companies make informed choices about the viability of cardboard alternatives.

Corrugated cardboard packaging comes from sustainable sources, uses recycled materials and can be recycled after use. It is ideally suited for product delivery, shelf ready packaging and temporary point of sale displays. What’s more, cardboard can easily be printed with a range of finishes, to brand the boxes and provide customer information.

This year, independent studies have shown that corrugated cardboard packaging is more hygienic for consumable products. The small fibres trap bacteria and keep them from spoiling the food. This, along with the naturally insulting properties of cardboard, helps to extend the life of edible goods and reduce food waste. We look forward to informing more organisations about the benefits of corrugated cardboard in the coming year.
