Perfect Beer & Snack Pairings Boxed
Transforming plain shipping boxes into branded packaging doesn’t need to be complex or costly. Take the example of Beer Snack Club, a recently launched craft beer and snack pairing subscription box startup. They wanted to keep things simple and were mindful of budget, but they also understand the value of promoting their brand.
Tick the Box for Packaging
Beer Snack Club co-founders Rowan and Mel had a rough idea of their packaging requirements. Firstly, they needed the dimensions of their boxes to be within the Royal Mail Small Parcel size. This was essential for keeping shipping costs down. They also had a logo design, which they wanted printing on their subscription boxes in orange. With these straightforward requirements, they started researching UK packaging companies online.
Aylesbury Box Company was one of the UK packaging manufacturers on their shortlist, so they contacted us for a quote. We were able to supply a sample box, so they could see the print finish and how the orange logo would look when printed onto cardboard. The simplicity of the design led to a quick turnaround and the printed boxes were soon delivered.
“Aylesbury Box Company beat the competition in terms of providing the best solution at a very reasonable price. They provided timely service, good communication and samples. We are pleased with the result; a simple packaging solution that meets our requirements.”
– Rowan, Co-founder of the Beer Snack Club
What is in the Beer Snack Club Subscription Box?
This monthly subscription box offers a monthly taste of 3 craft beers, along with snacks to pair with them that either complement, contrast or cut through the flavours in the beer. Each month, their beer enthusiasts focus on a specific region of the UK and investigate the breweries and bars to discover new and exciting flavours in that area.
This is more than simply receiving a delicious monthly delivery; it is a club. Weekly podcasts are available on Instagram to provide insight and entertainment. Then, released on their weekly podcast, the team visit the city or region in focus to speak with independent craft beer bottle shops, bars and breweries. They also run a live Q&A with the breweries in the box on the last Thursday of the month to provide more information on the beer and snack pairings. If you can resist opening the subscription box, then you can sample the contents alongside the team.
The UK taste tour started in Sheffield with Neepsend Brewery, Abbeydale Brewery and Triple Point x Bullion Chocolate providing the beer selection. The next stop is Glasgow, a city known for innovation, creativity and culture; what will they have to offer? Then, staying closer to their London base, Essex breweries will feature. Where next?
The Beer Snack Club are open to suggestions, so if you are a craft beer drinker with a passion for local favourites, please share your knowledge. They are keen to learn more, showcase smaller producers and help every member of the club to broaden their horizons!
This is seen as a collaboration, so 30% of the profits made from subscription box sales are shared both with the breweries and a craft beer enthusiast they team up with to help promote their shop local message.
