It’s December! Time to start planning who will be around the table for Christmas dinner, along with which delicious treats to serve. This weekend is Small Business Saturday, so we encourage you to seek out local companies to supply your Christmas boxes.
Independent businesses value your custom, offer something unique and help the local economy. To get you inspired, let us tell you about five fabulous companies that can supply sumptuous flavours to will lift your festivities.
Locally Sourced Christmas Boxes
Turkey Boxes
A short drive out of Aylesbury is the small village of Upton, which has been put on the map by Starveall Turkeys. Winner of four Great Taste Awards, this company takes pride in exemplary welfare standards and traditional preparation. Pre-ordered turkeys are boxed, along with a recipe guide, on the 22, 23 & 24 of December, ready for collection. These Christmas boxes are not to be missed!
“Great service, nicely packaged and safely served. Comes with a handy turkey timer and cooking guidance. Shop offers other products from sausages, stuffing to sauces and eggs. Looking forward to eating one of their turkeys again!” – Customer Review
Cheese Boxes
For many of us, the highlight of Christmas dinner is the cheese board. Where better to find a unique Christmas box full of cheese than 2 Pound Street in Wendover? This Deli specialises in cheese and wine and if you favour strong cheeses or mild cheese, there are Christmas boxes for you.
“Love this cheese shop, the range of British produce too! The team who work here know their stuff and cheeses we’ve tried so far are delicious! Will be ordering some Christmas hampers this year as presents.”
Chutney Boxes
A turkey or cheese sandwich can be transformed into a delicious festive lunch with a good spread of chutney. Green Kitchen Preserves offers a range of homemade flavours including Spicy Plum & Apple. What’s more, their Tomato & Chilli (a Northamptonshire Food & Drink Award Winner 22/23). Their gift boxes offer 3 jars, providing the perfect accompaniment to cheese or meat and fish.
“Absolutely delicious jams and chutneys, massive fan of tomato and chilli with a slab of cheese, or the extra strawberry jam on a piece of toast.”
Truffle Boxes (not the chocolate kind!)
Christmas is a time of decadence and one way to enhance the flavour of your meal is with truffles. The Truffle offers oils, sauces and pesto, along with fresh truffles and they say they will elevate your cooking from great to incredible. Take a look at their gift boxes.
“Delicious, high-quality truffles and love the tapenade particularly. The Truffle have excellent customer service and were able to help with a range of queries swiftly and recommended additional products which are very tasty. Thank you so much.”
Handmade Chocolate Gifts
Talking of truffles…for many of us, it’s not Christmas without sweet treats! Nothing tops the delicious festive chocolates and hot chocolate flakes that are hand-crafted at Rumsey’s Chocolaterie. How can you resist?
“Absolutely recommend Rumsey’s handmade chocolate. This chocolate is superb quality and to be truthful didn’t last long at all 😁, will definitely be ordering for Christmas.”
