When delivering bottled beverages, you need to trust that the shipping boxes are sufficiently robust to survive the journey. Broken bottles cause a mess, a safety risk and incur the cost of sending out replacements, so how do you design drinks packaging to ensure this can be avoided?
Custom Drinks Packaging
Clinking glasses as you raise a toast is a great tradition, but you don’t want bottles to be rattling around and chiming with each other. Drinks packaging has to be designed to offer sufficient protection during transit and this means custom solutions.
We need to know the bottle shape and size, along with how many bottles will be shipped in each carton. Then leave it to us to design the best fit shipping boxes that will hold your bottles firmly in place! Additional strength can be engineered into the packaging design as required and our solutions include the secure sealing of boxes for despatch.
Our custom drinks packaging has been manufactured for single bottles, or boxes containing 3, 6 or 12 bottles. These include gift boxes and carry packs. In addition to soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, our custom packaging can also be designed for other liquids sold in glass bottles including sauces, oils and perfumes.

Sustainable Drinks Packaging
Great protection and custom solutions aren’t all we care about – we also want to offer you sustainable packaging. Our cardboard solutions are made from at least 80% recycled fibres and are 100% biodegradable. Cardboard is widely recycled and we encourage this, as old boxes are used to make new ones. By using cardboard features including dividers and holders, there is no need for plastic void fill.
Branded Drinks Packaging
Whether delivered direct to consumers, to customers in the hospitality industry or to retailers, printed packaging helps build brand recognition. Print can also be used to provide handling information to reduce the risk of breakages. In addition, we can incorporate die-cut features to include handles and design details to your boxes.
Packaging Solutions for Saicho Drinks
Two years ago, we started to work with Saicho Drinks. This was then a new business venture set up by two PhD Food Scientists who were on a mission to bring sparkling tea to the dining tables of the world. What they didn’t know about tea was limited, yet they were new to packaging.
They already had interest from restaurants in the UK and Hong Kong, so the drinks packaging had to be suitably robust for international shipping. It is essential that their single-origin sparkling tea range is viewed as an alternative to quality wines, so their branded boxes had to set the right tone.
Breakages could damage the brand reputation that they were working extremely hard to build. For this reason, the packaging solution had to provide the right levels of protection.
Our boxes met the brief and we are delighted that Saicho Drinks are still a customer of ours.

Saicho Sparkling Tea
The Saicho Drinks range includes three bottled, non-alcoholic, sparkling tea options:
- Darjeeling – delicate mandarin, ginger and wood spice notes
- Hojicha – complex umami flavours of seaweed, roasted hazelnut and delicate smoke
- Jasmine – floral aroma with hints of apple sherbert, lychee and vanilla
The company now supplies their sparkling teas to 38 hotels in the UK, 52 in Hong Kong and one in Singapore. These include the Mandarin Oriental in Hyde Park, The Langham in Hong Kong and Goodwood Park in Singapore. You can also order bottles from the Saicho Drinks online shop.
