Branded Delivery Boxes
A plain, brown, corrugated cardboard box is a practical packaging solution. The robust design has been used to pack, store and transport millions of different products.
A plain, brown, corrugated cardboard box is also uninspiring. Quite honestly, it is a missed opportunity to market your brand and provide valuable customer information.
Why aren’t more companies adding bold graphics, instructions, branding and colour to their delivery boxes? Most likely because they are trying to minimise e-commerce packaging costs.
So, how much does flexographic printing cost?
This comes as a surprise to many companies, but printing a box can be part of the standard manufacturing process. When we produce boxes, the cardboard passes through a ‘Printer Slotter’ Machine. This cuts the cardboard to the desired shape and prints the design.
Every box has a template to ensure it is cut to the right size, shape and with the required cut outs. It is also possible for us to prepare the necessary tooling for print. There is a small cost associated with preparing the tooling, but if you are planning a large run, the per-unit cost is minimal. Once created, the box is printed and cut in one process.
Being integral in the process means that a flexographic print requirement has minimal impact in the time taken to manufacture the boxes. There’s no compromise if you are after a quick turnaround.
Colour Print on Cardboard Boxes
Many businesses use a single black print to create a strong contrast between the box and the print. This can create some interesting effects, as well as being easy to read. Equally white print on a plain box offers a classy look, which has proved popular with ecommerce delivery boxes.
What we really love is when a company gets a little more creative with colour. Single or two colour prints offer fantastic effects that transform a bland box into something far more exciting. From bold, punchy colours, to pale tones for a subtle effect, a touch of colour transforms boring into branded.
