Bespoke Packaging Solutions for Start-Up Businesses
As a start-up business, you need to find ways in which to help your brand to stand out from the competition. Packaging is often the first contact that prospective customers have with your brand. As such, a plain, off-the-shelf delivery box simply won’t cut it. You need bespoke packaging solutions to capture interest and get people talking.
As box manufacturers, we have helped many start-up companies to design, product and print bespoke packaging solutions. They have approached us with a concept and we’ve applied our cardboard engineering skills and packaging knowledge to create an economically viable version.
Parknic Delivery Box and Picnic Blanket
One such example is the Parknic Delivery Box. As a start-up business, Parknic offers a pre-ordered picnic hamper for events. Turn up at an outdoor cinema screening, Proms in the Park or family festival and your lunch will be ready and waiting for collection.
When the company had first considered packaging, they had thought about delivery in a printed tote bag. Concerns about the environmental impact and cost of this solution, they began to develop ideas for a more sustainable packaging option.
They came up with the concept of a printed delivery box, which folded out to form a cardboard picnic blanket. The food could then be laid out, ready for everyone to tuck in. The challenge was to create an aesthetically pleasing design, both in the box and blanket format, without restricting the space for food within the box.
Aylesbury Box Company developed and produced a few samples for this bespoke packaging. The company used a simple, blue printed design on the inside and outside of the box. When delivered, the company brand is evident and when opened up, it replicates a checked picnic blanket.
You might be surprised to learn that this double-sided print can be applied as part of the box manufacturing process. This means that it costs little more than plain packaging to produce.
Packaging that ticks all the Boxes
This cardboard packaging solution has proven to be cheaper than the tote bags and a lot more innovative. It allows multiple picnic boxes to be easily stacked, ready for collection at events. When the contents have been consumed, the picnic boxes can be recycled. The fibres can then be used to produce other cardboard packaging.
