Ticking the Vegan Boxes at Christmas

It’s estimated that there are around 2.5 million vegans in the UK. That means many families include someone who has decided to give up meat and dairy. The choice to become vegan can be ethical, for health reasons or to cut costs and it is most popular among young, female adults. However, there is no need to fret about if they are coming for Christmas dinner. Let us share ideas on food and gift vegan boxes.

Gift Boxes for Vegans

Making it easy to find gifts that contain vegan-friendly ingredients is The Goodness Project. They offer food and drink hampers along with toiletry gift boxes for vegans and subscription boxes. What’s more, you’ll find they only use plastic-free and widely recyclable packaging.

For some different ideas, one of the following might appeal:

Smart Mushrooms – grow your own kit boxes

Leonie Botanics – award-winning vegan skincare suitable for sensitive complexions

Crazy B Sauces – boxes of hot, flavoursome & 100% vegan sauces to spice up every mealtime

Cornish Seaweed Bath Company – natural, cruelty-free hair and skincare products

We hope that’s provided gift inspiration, so let’s move on to the meal.

A Very Merry Vegan Christmas Dinner

Simply using vegetable oil rather than goose fat to cook the potatoes makes the Christmas roasties suitable for all. The piles of vegetables are ideal too. So, it’s just a case of finding a meat alternative. The good news is that M&S has a great Plant-based range which could provide a simple solution.

Alternatively, Mindful Chef, Grubby and Simply Cook all offer vegan meal boxes. These provide all the ingredients needed to make tasty dinners. How about a festive Butternut Squash & Brussel Sprout curry from the Mindful Chef range?

Vegans with a Sweet Tooth

Delicious desserts can be more difficult when you need to avoid chocolate, dairy and eggs. However, we have a solution. Fortunately, the Great British Bake Off’s dedicated vegan contestant, Freya Cox, has recently launched four home baking kits. The options are a sticky toffee pudding, lemon drizzle loaf cake, cookies and brokies (a brownie and cookie combo!)

FREYAS make it simple to bake tasty treats that every guest will devour. What’s more, you are not left with cupboard ingredients that you may not use again. She’s also written a Simple Vegan Baking recipe book, which could be another gift idea!

What about nibbles to accompany the festive films? Well, for the most widely available vegan sweets, Candy Kittens takes centre stage. These are available in most supermarkets and come in a choice of zingy flavours. There is also a selection of brands making vegan chocolate bars and boxes. As an example, Booja Booja chocolate boxes combine delectable truffles and beautiful packaging for a perfect treat.

Do You Supply Vegan Boxes?

We do supply vegan boxes. We know this because last year, one of our customers asked us to confirm that our boxes were 100% vegan-friendly. As part of their commitment to customers, they wanted to ensure that nothing in their supply chain was derived from animal products.

We knew that our cardboard boxes were, however, we discovered that some inks, finishes and adhesives contain animal products. Fortunately, we were able to confirm the inks used on their boxes were vegan and they remain a customer.

If your brand is committed to ethical values and you want printed packaging that aligns, ask your packaging supplier to confirm the credentials.
