Printed Packaging for Gifts & Treats

A plain cardboard delivery box is a missed opportunity to build brand recognition and a connection with the buyer. What’s more, it lacks the anticipation and unboxing experience offered by printed packaging. This is particularly important for gifts and treats that consumers buy for themselves or others.

Peak Days for Flower Sellers

Certain purchases are associated with special occasions, gifts and treats. As we approach Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and wedding season, flowers are a prime example. Considerable work has been underway for months to meet the peak days for flower sellers. Millions of red roses are specifically grown for 14th February alone! Meanwhile, spring varieties, including tulips and daffodils are popular purchases for Mother’s Day.

Whatever the bloom or occasion, this beautiful expression of love, thanks or friendship isn’t always easy to deliver in person. Fortunately, there’s a wealth of florists who carefully package and send bouquets by post. For the recipient, it is wonderful to receive this gift, especially when it arrives in printed packaging.

When you see a box with a floral design, it prompts feelings of excitement. Who are they from and what stunning blooms and scents will you discover inside? Additionally, there’s a practical reason for printed packaging for fresh flowers. It communicates to the courier and recipient that this is a priority delivery. The contents need to be placed in a vase of water as soon as possible. They can’t be returned to the depot or sorting office for collection.

Flowers in Printed Packaging

We’ve created printed flower boxes for a selection of online florists. These typically include a graphic floral design, the company name and valuable care advice.

A single-colour finish is all that’s needed to elevate a plain box to packaging that incites pleasure. This means the transformation can be achieved with minimal cost. Once the initial tooling is set up, printing can be integrated into the box manufacturing process. This means the cardboard is cut, folded and printed in one process. What’s more the same tooling can be used every time a new order is placed.

We manufacture flower boxes to your required dimensions and can integrate inserts to hold stems or vases in place. In addition, ask us about handles or die-cut holes to aid handling.

We’re happy to answer your questions about printed cardboard packaging for flower boxes and other online gift purchases. Just contact our friendly team on 01296 436888 or enquiries@abcbox.co.uk.

Flower Facts

The vast majority of cut flowers are not grown in the UK. Instead, regular deliveries are shipped from the largest flower merchants in Holland. They are transported in exacting conditions to help preserve the buds, stems and leaves.

New Covent Garden Flower Market is the UK’s largest, although it isn’t where the name suggests. It was relocated to a site near Battersea Power Station around 200 years ago. This trader’s market opens at 4am and is where the majority of florists in London and surrounding areas purchase their stock. It’s not open to the public and the majority of stock is sold out before the surrounding offices open for business.

An alternative that the public can enjoy is Columbia Road Flower Market. Open every Sunday from 8am, this street transforms into a verdant alley of foliage and flowers. The tradition dates back to before the Covent Garden market relocated. At that time, growers from surrounding market towns would bring their plants to trade on the street. Now, you’ll find cafes, craft shops and other treats operating as a backdrop to the blooms.

Roses, Delphiniums, Peonies and Zinnias are among the many striking varieties that can be grown outdoors in the UK. They all look super in the garden and are also great cut flowers if you want to bring colour and freshness indoors. Alternatively, place an online order and get them delivered to your door in printed packaging!
