Pop the Cork
Autumn has arrived and Christmas cards are already in the shops. Not long until plans for the office party, the family gathering and the New Year celebrations are in full swing.
By then, any duty free bottles that you brought back from holiday will be long gone, so why not try something refreshingly new. You may be surprised to discover that English wines are proving their worth and gaining popularity, especially when it comes to the bubbly variety. It’s time to support local producers.
English Wines
Back in an April blog, we highlighted that Chapel Down had been selected as the official wine of this year’s Oxford & Cambridge boat race. Since then the Coates and Seely Pavilion was set up at Goodwood and Bolney Wine has become the first English produced magnum to be sold at John Lewis.
Online wine suppliers such as Slurp and Naked Wines now stock a variety of English wines, with the sparkling variety being the most popular. Rather than sticking to your usual labels, why not put in an order for Hattingley Valley, Albury Estate or Nyetimber and have them conveniently delivered to your door?
If you are feeling hesitant, be reassured that those who have tried are going back for more. Sales during the 12 months to July 2017 were 16% up on the previous year. This has sparked considerable interest from wine sellers in the UK and abroad. Bolney Wine is amongst those actively promoting English sparkling wines in Europe.
Wine Boxes
Specially designed and printed cardboard wine boxes, with dividing inserts are an effective for wine delivery. As producers of cardboard wine boxes, Aylesbury Box Company is happy to play a small part in helping you enjoy English wines at any time of year. Cheers!
