Expanding our Horizons
If you were travelling from Birmingham to Aylesbury on Sunday, you may have passed a wide load. A convoy of three trucks were transporting a large die cut machine to our factory; we hope it didn’t cause any delays to your journey.
What is Die Cutting?
As a specialist box manufacturer, we use a die cut machine on every operational day. It cuts out the shapes of standard boxes and the unique designs of our bespoke packaging, leaving a professional finish. As consumers make assumptions about the product purely based on the packaging, a high quality finish is paramount to all of our customers.
Good use of a die cut machine allows a box manufacturer to create packaging which folds together. A strong design will be sufficiently robust without the need for packaging tape. As a company which actively works towards minimising its environmental impact and providing convenient, cost effective solutions for customers, this is a clear advantage.
A die cut machine allows us to incorporate windows, handles, slots and other features in the box, as well as creases for ease of folding. It can also perforate the cardboard which, for example, is a convenient way to transform a packaging box into a point of sale display.
Manufacturing Efficiency
This latest investment doesn’t alter what we offer, but it will increase our manufacturing efficiency and further enhance the accuracy of cutting and print registration. It’s the result of a year of planning, major restructuring of our factory and significant investment. In addition, we’re recruiting and this combination of manpower and machine will ensure that we can confidently extend our services to larger contracts.
You may see it as a cumbersome bulk of machinery, but we see it as a sign of our continued determination to deliver the best service to our customers.
Finally a promise that any disruptions on the roads this weekend are nothing to do with us!
