Festive Greetings From Aylesbury Box Company
The decorations are up and festive tunes play on the radio, so we invite you to tuck into a mince pie as you read the end-of-year update from the Aylesbury Box Company team.
Firstly, thank you to all of our customers and suppliers for helping us achieve another successful year! We appreciate that you choose to work with us and endeavour to offer a personal, professional and reliable service.
Christmas Closing Times
We are closed Wednesday 25 December 2024 until 9am on Thursday 2 January 2025
The countdown to Christmas has been an incredibly busy time for many. We are fully aware that manufacturing, retail and e-commerce customers depend on packaging supplies to fulfil customer orders. Therefore, our team have pulled out all the stops to get shipping cartons, e-commerce packaging and retail boxes delivered on time. We’re getting more out of the door this week, so stocks are in place for January sales.
We will continue manufacturing and delivering until the 24th of December. What’s more, our customer services team is at the end of the phone or email if you have any questions or queries. Then, we’re giving the whole Aylesbury Box Company team a well-deserved break to relax and enjoy the festivities with family and friends.
Our customer services team will return to the office on Thursday 2nd January, ready to discuss your packaging requirements for 2025. If you have a New Year packaging request, give them a call on 01296 436888 or email enquiries@abcbx.co.uk. Our manufacturing team will fire up our packaging machines on the 6th January.
We use the quiet Christmas period to undertake essential maintenance activities on our machines and warehouse, to ensure everything is in great working order for the coming year.
Aylesbury Box Company Employees
We certainly couldn’t operate without our fantastic team. Everyone contributes their knowledge and expertise to provide positive customer experiences.
Christmas Celebration
Thanks to Nicky’s organisational skills, the Aylesbury Box Company team enjoyed a Christmas celebration on Saturday 7 December. Despite stormy conditions, there was a great turnout for Greyhound Racing at Oxford Stadium. Between courses of Christmas food, we were fortunate to catch the Betgoodwin Series Maiden Cup Final. Congratulations to Droopys Prefect, the winning greyhound. If anyone had a bet on it, I think the winnings were spent at the bar!
Upskilling the Team
On our mission to keep upskilling the team, we are delighted with the commitment that Martin and Rhys have given to the leadership training scheme. This ongoing course is led by the cardboard packaging industry body, The Sheet Plant Association, and covers all aspects of managing people and processes.
“The Sheet Plant Associations Emerging Leaders Programme has been a great insight into learning about the industry and our competitor’s history and success stories. I’m also learning more about myself and the type of manager I am, and would like to be by the end of this process. It is very interesting to see how our peers deal with different situations within their teams and a really good network of people to ask for advice if required. The mentors are great, very approachable and supportive and I am enjoying being on the course.” – Martin
“I have found the management training great, it’s been interesting to learn more about myself and make new contacts across the industry. It has also been very refreshing to hear of challenges similar to those that we face and share possible solutions.” – Rhys
In addition, Alex completed a sales training course.
“It was intriguing to learn how to use online platforms like LinkedIn to find new business through different searches, how to find the right people and the relevant info. Also, the idea of looking through our current database and seeing if the contacts are still at the relevant company or if they have moved on. If the latter, LinkedIn also gives us the chance to connect with the contact and see if their current company requires any corrugated items.” – Alex
New Employee Joins the ABC Team
We have a dedicated team at Aylesbury Box Company and a positive company culture. As a result, turnover is low. However, one of the longest-standing members of our customer service team retired this year. We’ve been pleased to welcome a new employee, Jamie Jesses, into the role of project management in customer services.
Jamie has gained valuable and transferable skills in the metal fabrication industry and is now completing an intensive training scheme to learn more about the cardboard packaging industry and our products. Fortunately, he’s a very fast learner!
Festive Greetings from Aylesbury Box Company!
There has been plenty to keep us on our toes and other plans are progressing well, so let’s look forward to what the New Year brings.
We hope all our customers, suppliers, and employees have had a prosperous and fulfilling 2024 and here’s to the same again for 2025!
