Corrugated Cardboard: The Key to Creative Packaging

If you are working on packaging design, it’s time to think beyond the box.

Corrugated cardboard is a versatile material, which can be cut and shaped in a wide variety of forms. As a low cost, environmentally friendly and durable material, corrugated cardboard opens up the creative potential for showcasing your products in eye catching packaging design.

Aylesbury Box Company enjoys letting you know about inspiring cardboard creations and the individuals that are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. We’ve previously talked about artists creating corrugated cardboard furniture and another name has caught our attention.

Chris Gilmour – Corrugated Cardboard Artist

If you need any proof of the potential of corrugated cardboard, we advise you to take a look at the work of cardboard artist Chris Gilmour. Full scale musical instruments, boats, cars, bikes and statues are among his impressive sculptures – all of which have been produced using only corrugated cardboard and glue.

Born in the UK and a long term resident of Italy, Chris Gilmour has exhibited in galleries across the globe. He’s also created corrugated cardboard sets for promotional marketing; his clients include Hewlett Packard and Vidal Sassoon. In his spare time, he runs community workshops in a bid to inspire others to realise their ideas in cardboard. What an inspiration!
