One man had the vision to change our approach to selecting specs. As a dispensing optician with over a decade of experience in the industry, he was aware of an opportunity to approach things from a fresh perspective. Glasses do fulfil a functional requirement, yet they are also an accessory. We wear them every day, so they are part of the image we present to the world.

Optician Carl was a recipient of a sock subscription box. On some days a plain, dark sock might fit the bill, but on a different day, you might be in the mood for colour and pattern. Your socks can complement your footwear or give a nod to a quirky side of your personality. Carl wanted people to have the opportunity to also choose between a selection of glasses; Frameworks was born.

Shop Online for Glasses

Frameworks is an online shop offering glasses and sunglasses to purchase in a range of styles and colours. Helpfully, there is a virtual mirror, which takes a photo of your face and shows an image of you wearing the different glasses. Take your picture with your specs off and then put them back on to view the images!

Once you have found a pair that you love, there is the option to purchase outright or opt for a subscription box. The subscription offer spreads the costs and, if you want more than one pair, provides great value. The subscription boxes also include added extras including competitions to enter and gifts.

Either way, you add your prescription details at the secure checkout. An anti-glare and scratch-resistant coating is applied as standard, but other options are available. Delivery is free and you can expect your new glasses to arrive in 2-4 working days.

Environmental Packaging

Frameworks was set up as a company with eco-credentials. Their glasses cases are made from recycled plastic and they wanted sustainable cardboard mailers. The bespoke boxes were designed to the exact dimensions of the glasses cases, to offer optimum protection during delivery.

The company has a strong brand image. They wanted the cardboard mailers to be printed with single colour typography and design. Aylesbury Box Company designed, manufactured and printed the sustainable cardboard boxes to their exacting requirements.

In addition to sustainable packaging, Frameworks also signed the Dopper Wave pledge. This is a commitment to banning single-use plastic bottles from the company premises. Instead, employees and visitors are encouraged to enjoy tap water from reusable bottles or glasses of the drinking kind.
