One is a specialist in premium, loose-leaf teas and tisanes, who approached us wanting tea boxes for online and artisan market sales.
Introducing Holy Cow Tea
Tea Champion, Poonam Gupta, worked with merchants and specialists to source premium ingredients and develop a range of specialist teas. She is fascinated by the history, culture and traditions associated with world teas and this has inspired the flavour blends. She launched Holy Cow Tea in 2020 and her knowledge is shared during tea tastings, talks and experiences.
Poonam’s Indian heritage meant that the natural starting point was an aromatic Chai Masala. This blend of black Assam tea and spices is a warming brew on a chilly day. Other popular options include Mystic Moroccan Mint, Road to Marrakesh, and Chic Lady Grey, which was awarded a Great Taste star. In addition, Poonam sources quality specialist straight teas including Milk Oolong, Japanese Gyokuru and Silver Needle. It’s a paradise for tea lovers!
Ethical trading has always been a priority for Holy Cow Tea. From working with small plantation cooperatives with fair working conditions to ensuring all tea packaging is sustainable.
Poonam sells her range online and at local artisan markets. She also sells wholesale to specialist restaurants, gift shops and delis. She approached us with a request for tea boxes to elevate product presentation for gifts.
Tea Box Requirements
Poonam sells tea in a variety of formats, from small glass jars to large tea caddies and refill packs. In addition, she sells loose leaf tea accessories, including strainers and teapots. The first step was to understand the different combinations that she wanted to include in the gift boxes. We shared ideas and came up with an outer box solution that could be adapted to best fit various content combinations using different inserts.

Small Volume Packaging Runs for Small Businesses
The rigid cardboard boxes enhance the protection and presentation of the teas. This is ideal for online retail and also practical when transporting gift boxes to markets and speaking events.
We agreed on the final designs in December, which included printing the company branding on the inside of the tea boxes. Then, we promptly manufactured a small volume run for Poonam’s Holy Cow Tea chalet at the Waddesdon Christmas Market.
