Introducing Thomas Clipper

Thomas Clipper is an independent British brand that is celebrating a decade in business. The founders launched with a crowd-funded stylish razor. Superior quality wash bags and shaving sets were then added to the range of grooming products for modern men.

Artisan Fragrances

Having started to build its profile as a premium brand, Thomas Clipper introduced three artisan fragrances; City, Country & Coast. These received rave reviews in leading publications including GQ, Grazia, Esquire and Monocle magazines.

The quality fragrances were personally blended by the founders in Grasse, France. This region is known as the fragrance capital, where the team benefited from the knowledge of specialists. These experts helped them understand more about developing colognes and taking them to market. With the blends finalised, production began in the UK.

Over the years, four further fragrances have expanded the collection. And, each is crafted with the same care and attention. In addition to the full bottle sizes, Thomas Clipper offers a sample pack of miniatures. This discovery set enables you to work out your preferences and even mix things up to create a unique signature scent!

Redesigning Packaging for Thomas Clipper

When it came to redesigning the packaging, we were sent the original discovery set in the mail and asked to make improvements. Founder Matt spoke with Martin about small changes to the packaging and product presentation that would better reflect the brand image. However, as we were advising on the options, Matt received a delivery through the door. The timing was perfect, as this prompted a more significant change to the packaging design.

The delivery was a slimline, letterbox-friendly box and he asked if we could achieve a similar solution for their packaging upgrade. So, we set to work, creating a viable solution. The new packaging design is constructed from card, rather than corrugated cardboard, yet protects the product. Inside, each sample bottle has a designated section, with the names printed on the box.

Travel-friendly & Environmentally-friendly Packaging

The new discovery box looks classy, uses far less packaging material and is about two-thirds smaller than the original. Fortunately, this enabled Thomas Clipper to deliver a travel-friendly solution, which had been requested by customers. In addition, the smaller size reduces production and delivery costs and lowers the environmental impact of each order.

Sustainability has been a priority for Thomas Clipper from the outset. The fragrances are blended with 100% organic alcohol and the whole Thomas Clipper range is totally vegan-friendly. That means no products are tested on animals and no animal products are used in production. On top of that, shipping is carbon offset and the company uses 100% recyclable packaging.

The team were delighted with the packaging upgrade and the new look discovery sets were quickly uploaded onto the website.
