Boxes & Bands Offer Strength & Protection
Our cardboard boxes offer strength and protection at affordable prices. These are also qualities shared by PowerHands, one of our most recent packaging customers.
PowerHands Resistance Training
A good grip and hand strength helps us all to manage everyday tasks, like opening jars and lifting heavy bags. For athletes, hand strength is critical to enhancing performance and preventing injuries. So, how do you give this area of the body a workout?
PowerHands is the answer; a product that combines resistance bands with a training programme. Anyone, of any age or ability, can use them to strengthen their hands, fingers, thumbs, forearm and wrists.
The concept was created when the business owner, Gary, was affected by elbow tendonitis. His searched for a solution, to aid rehabilitation and reduce the risk of the issue reoccurring, proved fruitless. Fortunately, he had experience in product development and began experimenting with design ideas and the PowerHands resistance bands evolved.
Professional athletes and health specialists were then brought onboard to create conditioning and exercise videos to accompany the bands. Could this be the way to boost your golf swing, perfect your slam dunk or deliver more aces in tennis?
“If you follow the guidance in your PowerHands training videos, you’ll notice a difference in your strength, endurance, pain management and golfing performance.”
– Joe Macro, Certified TPI Golf Fitness & Performance Coach
The PowerHands resistance bands are lightweight, suitable for all hand sizes and made from hypoallergenic, recyclable material. What’s more, they come in four different weights, and all customers gain access to the training programme. It’s an affordable option that can help individuals to achieve their health and sporting performance goals. They are currently sold online and through affiliate coaches, with plans in progress to target the American market.
Packaging for PowerHands
The first packaging that was developed for the PowerHands resistance bands was a blister pack; a flat cardboard sheet with a pre-formed plastic pocket stuck on the front to hold the product in place. This was a good starting point, but following a rebrand, and the potential of reaching new markets, a better packaging option was required.
Gary played around with other packaging to work on an idea and he also asked designers to come up with a concept. However, when presenting these box ideas to a packaging company, he was quoted a per-unit price that wasn’t commercially viable. After exploring other options, he was referred to us at Aylesbury Box Company.
Gary explained what he wanted in terms of size, presentation, branding and protection. This led to discussed about box and insert options, print finishes and the budget. Then, it was down to us to come up with a viable packaging solution. We created three or four samples and sent them for Gary to try out. Although it took a bit of time and a few more conversations to get it right, we delivered a solution that fit the brief.
New Printed Boxes Delivered!
The new printed boxes for PowerHands have been delivered to Gary and he is a happy customer! They hold his product securely in place. What’s more the branding and intensity of colour is strong.
“Amazing. I didn’t expect the boxes to be as good as they are. The print finish is smoother than on the sample boxes and you can hardly see the cardboard ridges. They look great and fit our brand. The customer service from Aylesbury Box Company has been really good, I’m delighted.”
– Gary, PowerHands
We agree that the boxes look impressive. Look at the black exterior print with white and green detailing, coupled with the vibrant green print on the inside; it certainly adds impact! The result is packaging designed to heighten presentation, protects the product during shipping and deliver a positive association with the brand.
As a final point, these printed boxes are 100% recyclable and easy to disposed of in household recycling bins.
