Replacing Plastic Packaging

Replacing Plastic Packaging

Viable alternatives to plastic

Cardboard is widely recycled across the UK and can be made into new boxes within weeks. It is formed from natural materials, which are sourced from responsibly managed forests and it is biodegradable. It is a different story for plastic packaging, which is formed through chemical processes and doesn’t biodegrade. Much of our plastic packaging waste is exported to countries that don’t have the facilities to process it.

Yes, we are a packaging manufacturer, but we strive to be much more than that by providing a personable service, helpful advice and streamline processes.

Remove Plastic from Packaging Design

We support many customers to remove plastic from their packaging design by offering sustainable and viable alternatives. Simple solutions include replacing foam with cardboard inserts and plastic tape with self-sealing boxes or paper tape.

There are many reasons to minimise or eliminate plastic from your packaging. Firstly, we all have a responsibility to lower our impact on the planet. Secondly, consumers are increasingly drawn to brands which are actively embracing sustainability. Thirdly, notable cost-savings can be made by avoiding high payments of plastic tax.

Some plastic products have already been banned in the UK, including cutlery and straws. Other single-use plastic will likely be targeted as the Government’s Environmental Bill is rolled out. So, get ahead of the game and discover how else your goods could be packaged.

We are all responsible for positive change, so get in touch for advice on switching from plastic to sustainable alternatives.
