Void Fill for Versatile Packaging
The components shipped by MGR Foamtex are typically large and irregularly shaped. These premium quality items need to be carefully packed to ensure they are delivered in pristine condition. Therefore, void fill is the most effective method of protecting the products in transit. It fits around any shaped components, preventing movement in the box and additional padding and shock absorbency.
The challenge with holding a stock of void fill is space. Huge rolls of bubble wrap or bags of packaging peanuts are bulky. What’s more, they are not easy to handle. For this reason, we suggested the company install air cushion machines in their factory.
These compact machines inflate flat film rolls on demand and at speed. These require a small area in the packing station and the film is available in a range of air pillow sizes. They are neat, easy to operate and there is no waste. It’s the latest packaging solution in our range.
What Difference Do the Air Cushion Machines Make?
MGR Foamtex informed us that the primary advantage of installing the air cushion machines is that they are easy to use. That will always be a priority on a packing line. What’s more, they state it is a fast process, especially when they need large quantities of void fill.
Is the Film Sustainable?
With a focus on sustainability, we were keen to understand the credentials of the film used in the air cushion machines. Firstly, each pocket is 99% air and 1% material. The film is made from 50% recycled plastic, which can be reused and recycled. There is also the option of the EN13432 compostable film or paper cushions.
Versatile Solution for Packaging
If your company also produces a variety of products in differing shapes and sizes, void fill is likely to be the most effective way to protect your goods from damage. If you lack the space for bulky fillers or are fed up with sweeping packaging peanuts off the workspace and floor, an air cushion machine could provide a versatile solution.
