Packaging Natural Products

With a range of print options at our disposal, Aylesbury Box Company can produce rich, vibrant colours, high gloss or foil finishes and bold designs. This style works wonders for eye-catching, shelf-ready packaging, but some brands prefer a simpler approach.

Typically, those brands with a focus on natural health, raw ingredients and reducing environmental impact opt for stylish, minimal packaging design. Rather than covering the corrugated cardboard in print, the approach is often subtle and sparing.

When print is used, a simple pallet is often selected. The focus is on clearly showcasing the natural qualities of the products inside. A great example is the Nakd Wholefoods delivery box.

Nakd Wholefoods Delivery Box

Nakd Wholefoods produce tasty and healthy snack bars. Designed to be a convenient and nutritionally-rich alternative to chocolate bars and other ‘grab on the go’ snacks, they are packed with wholefood goodness.

Nakd snack bars are produced from 100% natural ingredients. They are dairy-free, wheat-free and vegan. With the exception of the Oatie bars, they are also gluten-free. The fruit and nuts are unprocessed and natural sugars help to sweeten and preserve the bars.

Individual Nakd bars are wrapped in air-tight packaging, which helps the bars to retain moisture and remain fresh and delicious for months. Unfortunately, these wrappers are not recyclable, but a better alternative has yet to be found.

When it came to delivery boxes for Nakd bars, there is a viable recyclable option – corrugated cardboard! As a locally-based company, Nakd approached Aylesbury Box Company to discuss their requirements for corrugated delivery boxes. In addition to sustainability, the company wanted to ensure that their packaging reflected the personality of the business.

Working with the company branding, we produced a two-tone printed packaging design. The contrast between the grass green and dark brown is effective. The design includes internal printing, which adds to the excitement when buyers open the box.

Green in Packaging Design

The colour of trees, grass and foliage, it is no wonder that we associate the colour green with nature. It suggests outdoors, fresh air, natural produce, as well as being a calm and restful colour. It is ideal for wholefood, vegetarian foods, however, it is best avoided for meat products, where the association is far less pleasant.

Dark Brown in Packaging Design

Dark brown has a rustic, earthy quality. It is rich, warm, woody and wholesome. Again, this works brilliantly with the Nakd brand, along with coffee and dark chocolate. As a classic, masculine colour it features less often in fast fashion and packaging for children.
