Packaging for Book Lovers

If your pleasure is reading, then the perfect gift is a book (or ten!) and the ideal shopping experience is a traditional bookshop.

One of our customers is Coles Books in Bicester, which is the oldest independent bookshop in North Oxfordshire. Whilst they provide a delightful haven for local book lovers, they also offer an online service. As specialists in limited edition and signed books, they have customers from around the world, so they needed suitable packaging.

Books Delivered in Pristine Condition

For book lovers, the purchase of a novel, classic text or biography is an immersive, sensory experience. The look, feel and even smell of the cover and pages provide joy before it has been opened. They want to receive the book in pristine condition (and once it is in their hands, it is unlikely to be loaned to others, for fear that they will not take proper care of it!)

Coles Books understands the importance of sending these treasures in packaging that offers good protection. They wrap each purchase in paper to minimise damage. The wrapped books are then placed in a beautiful bespoke mailing carton, ready for shipping.

When these printed delivery boxes arrive, they instantly offer a sense of delight and intrigue. As a result, the packaging elevates the experience of receiving books and this make a lasting impression on their customers.

“It was the most impressive packaging that I have EVER SEEN!!! The books were in perfect condition!!!!!”

“I ordered a signed 1st edition and it is so amazing. It’s everything I could ask for. Good quality, honestly pretty cheap and the packaging was so beautiful. The item also came so quickly. I appreciate this so much. I love that a bookshop can also work online and I wish there were more places like this.”

Printed Packaging for Deliveries

The logo for Coles Books is an illuminated letter ‘C’; a style that was widely used in historic manuscripts and books. Rather than a small print of the logo, this ornate design has been enlarged to adorn the packaging. Printed in grey on the bespoke cardboard box, is not evident that it is a single letter or a logo. It just works as a stylish design.

Aylesbury Box Company designed a 0427 carton to the specific dimensions requested by Coles Books. This is a popular presentation box is ideal for delivering smaller products. It is delivered flat-packed for ease of storage but assembles easily. The overlapping sides give added strength and durability to the box. Furthermore, it is self-sealing, yet easy to open by the recipient.

Essentially, this style of packaging looks great and it keeps the goods inside looking great.

If you would like to discuss your requirements for small postal boxes, Aylesbury Box company are happy to advise on design and print solutions.

Inspiring Readers of the Future

The team at Coles Books are inspired to get everyone reading. They run a weekly Storytime session for parents and pre-schoolers. Abiding by social distancing measures, the bookshop has remained open, but groups like Storytime have had to go online.

If you have young children who love a bedtime story, head over to the Coles Books Facebook page. There is a huge collection of story videos ready to be enjoyed, time and time again. Maybe order a book whilst you are there – for some they will be the ideal Christmas gift!
