Happiness Inside the E-commerce Box

I had a pleasant surprise at lunchtime; having removed the food from the package, I was greeted by a delightful image. A simple, yet beautiful, mono-print sun shone out from inside of the box. It made me smile.

The printed box made me feel more joyful when eating the product. I now associate the food with a positive experience and this will probably influence a future buying decision. That’s good marketing.

When packaging your product it is easy to focus on the external design. It’s understandable that the outside of box has to make an impact, but could you enhance the experience by making good use of the interior spaces?

Thortful Card Ecommerce Boxes

A great example is used by one of our customers, Thortful. This online card company promotes the designs of emerging artists. This means that they offer a greater selection of designs than you might find on the High Street. It also means that you can find the perfect card without spending hours hunting around the shops.

When Thortful discussed their packaging design ideas with Aylesbury Box Company, they wanted to convey the delight of opening a card. Their e-commerce packaging didn’t need to have striking shelf appeal, so they focused on the idea of ‘happiness inside’.

We used bold, punchy flexographic print to provide the impact they desired. The print was also used to share customer testimonials, an effective means of communicating a positive message. Flexographic print is applied as part of the box manufacturing process. With the initial tooling set up, it requires minimal additional time or expenditure to create a printed box.

Whether your intention is to deliver an emotional response, to promote your brand or simply to provide useful information, our printed ecommerce packaging for online retailers could provide the solution.
