Cardboard Boxes to the Rescue

When the Chair of the school PTA asks if you can help prepare a game for the upcoming school fete, where do you start? With a cardboard box of course!

Armed with a couple of old cardboard boxes, a tube of glue, paint and some coloured paper, work commenced on creating a cake stand game. Corrugated cardboard is a versatile material, so shaping and painting was no problem. Lemon drizzle, cupcakes, flapjack, cookies and a chocolate gateaux make up the five required components.

This was a fun weekend project, but it gets you thinking. With a little work on the design, this lemon drizzle would make fantastic packaging for cakes. Just a look would tickle your taste buds and tempt you to put it in the shopping basket.
