The Most Precious Cargo Protected in Cardboard Boxes

Corrugated cardboard boxes are robust and protective.  As such they are used to package goods of all shapes and sizes, including the most valuable, fragile and delicate items. Maybe it shouldn’t be a surprise that thick cardboard boxes are now being offered as a first bed for new-born babies.

Cardboard Boxes for Newborns

The Baby Box Company is working in partnership with healthcare experts and Lidl to support new parents. The process starts with a 15-minute online parenting course. With cuts to services meaning fewer health visitor appointments, this offers a valuable insight into the early days of parenthood.

Having completed the training, parents are asked questions to check their understanding of the course.

In return for their engagement in the parenting course, the Baby Box Company offers rewards. These include a beautifully printed cardboard box of Lidl essentials, such as muslin cloths, nappies and wipes.

Cardboard Box Doubles as a Baby Bed

Delve a little deeper and you’ll discover a mattress, cover and cotton sheet are snugly fitted in the bottom. Based on a Finnish tradition, the cardboard box doubles as a practical bed for daytime naps. As many of the Aylesbury Box Company team are parents, we appreciate that this is a wonderful idea!

Moving a lightweight box around is much easier than transporting a cot. As such, the baby box can be placed in the same room as the parent or taken out and about. Positioned on the floor, or other low, flat surface, the baby can be laid in for a nap. The parent can easily keep an eye on the little one, whilst getting on with jobs, chatting with friends or simply enjoying a moment of quiet.

The cardboard boxes have been well-designed.  They are decorated with an internal printed pattern, as well as exterior print. This adds a look of quality to the thick and naturally insulating cardboard and adds to the appeal; you don’t feel like you are placing your baby in a cardboard box. The outside design is also attractive and includes branding from the organisations involved in this initiative.

Box of Delights

We know that cats are particularly partial to curling up in cardboard delivery boxes, so could Pet Packs take off? How about stationery sets that double as practical filing boxes or packaging for a camera that folds into a photo album? It’s time to inject creativity into your packaging design and encourage reuse.
